Feng shui is about the flow and the containment of Chi.  Good feng shui involves balancing the yin and yang, the flow of chi which is the flow of energy in nature, in our environment and within our bodies with the use of the five elements.  The goal in feng shui is harmonizing you and your living space while taking into consideration the cyclical nature of change.
